Marta Baumiller

Originally from Poland, Marta is a traveller, artist, designer and avid gardener. After studying sculpture at Kansas City Art Institute and Maryland College of Art, she received her MFA from Stony Brook University. She has been a costume maker, milliner, fashion and lighting designer as well as educator. She presently works across media with a focus on project-based installations. Her interest lies in merging the functional object with process, form and politics.

Marta’s work, in all its various forms, can be found in galleries, hotels, and stores around the globe from The Straw Hat Restaurant in Anguilla to Salesforce offices in Silicon Valley and Westin Hotels worldwide. Her designs have been published in the New York Times, Wallpaper and Interior Design Magazine among others. She recently exhibited at the Zuccaire Gallery in Stony Brook, Serendip Gallery in Kobe Japan, Arts Westchester in Whiteplains, East End Arts in Riverhead, SUNY Chancellors Gallery in Albany, Farmingdale State College on Long Island, Portal:GI, Governor’s Island, NYC .

Marta lives and works in a renovated barn on the North Fork of Long Island.
